I would agree that Ruth's face seems too dark to me. In particular, his brow and the "lines" of his face seem darker and more pronounced than they do normally. It also appears there's a pretty even "darkening" of the edges/corners on the front and back which is another tell-tale sign that someone tried to give the card a more "authentically aged" appearence.
The Aaron I'm not sure about, could go either way on that, but as with the Ruth, I can't really tell based on the photo. From what I can see, I'm about 95% certain the Ruth is a fake and could go 50/50 on the Aaron. I would try to use a scanner if you have access to one....
