in almost every instance the total worth of a set is the sum of its parts. sweat equity doesnt equate to an extra bump in the price no matter how long it took to put the set together. that's why these sets usually end up being broken apart. people don't care how much time you put into putting it together. that was your non financial investment. they look at a price guide and rarity and go from there. whether you had to climb a himilayan mountain to find the cards in the first place doesnt matter to them because they are here now and not on the mountain top anymore.
