Default Matty comes back to Fenway - 100 years later

Thanks to the advice of a couple board members who pointed me in the right direction earlier in the week, I was able to make a visit to a card shop near Fenway Park yesterday. It was worth the visit, as I was able to grab a T205 Mathewson for my collection, and today I brought him along to the park.

In the first pic he is sitting on the visitors bench where he might have been when he pitched Games 2, 5 and 8 in the 1912 World Series. Of course, this is all assuming that the visitors bench has always been on the third base side (I believe it has), and that the dugout is in the same spot it is today (not sure, but doubtful I guess). Game 2 was a tie and he was the losing pitcher in Games 5 and 8.

Second pic is him overlooking the field from the visitors dugout. He seems to almost have a sense of approval with the way the ole' yard looks today, although it's not really the way it would have looked in his time.

(BTW - the name of the shop is Kenmore Collectibles - 6 or 7 blocks from the park. Not a ton of old stuff, but worth a stop if you're going to games at Fenway).
