And, as I believe was a topic of discussion following his last auction, those higher prices spill over to other memorabilia categories he brings as well, though typically photos are his main area of emphasis. It's hard to pin a price on any piece ahead of time, but you can safely bet it will be "top of the market" price (or better) when the dust settles.

Just goes to show that knowledge of the subject matter, fully-informed descriptions, and clear, straightforward presentation of the material are all appreciated by bidders, and they will reward you for your efforts and consistency.

Oh, and literally being one of two who "wrote the book" on the subject helps too

Just wanted to add my 2 cents to this discussion. I have known Henry for a long time and have followed his auctions since the beginning. All of my interactions with Henry have been extremely pleasant and very informative. His knowledge about vintage photos is second to none and he has always been receptive to any of my questions regarding such.

Of all of the dealers, auction houses, etc. that I have dealt with the past 20 years or so, I would easily place Henry in the top 1% for courtesy, honesty knowledge and professional behavior.

In addition to all of the previous excellent points explained by others in this thread as to why his auctions do so well, I would simply add that Henry's auctions have filled a much needed gap in the hobby. Rather than endlessly fishing for items on Ebay or being priced out of the major auction houses, for the last decade or so, Henry has provided quality items that would never appear in REA, Legendary, Heritage or Lelands, starting at 99 cents all at one site with excellent descriptions and remarkable photo documentation.

In my opinion, he fully deserves all of the success he has worked so hard to achieve.
