Most of this has been discussed, but I still find it fascinating. Several T206 stars made the original top 50, but never got in.
And several of the stars of the 1800's, who also were selected for small sets (Dunlap, Glasscock, Bennett), were rated very high by the Veteran's committee back then, but still never made it. http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/hof_1936.shtml
