The Name Game
I have a few questions concerning the names of people/entities. Please help!
#1 Alot of old-time ballplayers were nicknamed "Rube". I know why they called guys "Lefty" or "3-Finger", but what's a rube? #2 While walking the show floor at the National a few weeks ago I noticed the Huggins & Scott Auctions signage had pictures of the T206 Miller Huggins and Jim Scott. Were these two players or their families the ones that started the company? #3 (A Very Important Question!) Where did the name "net54baseball" come from? In addition, if anyone has other questions about names or an interesting "story" of how someone or something got it's name please feel free to share. Thanks!
