Default What Is Your Favorite Caramel Set? Why?

Posted By: bruce Dorskind

Our favorite set will always be the E 125 American Carmael Die Set

As it turns out an older Kentucky gentleman is mid 80's discovered
some funny looking baseball cards ... he wanted to sell them
and a local tv station connected him with Mr. Mint or who had recently appeared
on the Today Show.

The gentleman called Mr. Mint. He said he couldn't visit him to look at some
funny looking die cuts... he told the guy to look at a Hobby Magazine called
The Trader Speaks...maybe he would find a collector.

Lucky for us... we had a full page ad for America's Toughest Want List
we got the call...took the trip and bought 20 American Caramel Die Cuts

Remarkably all were Pittsburgh players.

The nice old gentleman had never heard of a travelers check...so we had to ride
with him to the bank while he cased the checks.... He then took us to the airport

His parting words were that Mr. Mint sure doesn't know old cards.

We smiled and said goodbye and thought it was too bad that we didn't have enough travelers checks with us to purchase the 5 Tiffany Lamps that lite the room where we first viewed the cards
