As a scarce display piece, I think it's worth more than what you paid. You just have to learn to love Herb Pennock. Actually, that it's Pennock gives credence to it being an official production. If it was a cheapo ripoff for quick bucks, you'd expect it to be Ruth or Cobb or Mantle, not Herb Pennock. Also, whenever there was a mass reprinting or commercial production, you will invariably see examples all over the place, including on eBay. For example, you see those reprint Moxie Ted Williams tin signs all over the place. I haven't searched the market, but haven't before seen one of these jumbo plaques. If you can't find other examples on the market, that's evidence that it's rare. |
