Bidders that wait the last few minutes to bid still end up paying a more realistic price (they won't steal it for 15K). These thirty day online auctions are plain dumb. If promoted right they can be done in a day. Look at MECUM Auctions, they auction off a 250K car in less than a minute.

What’s the alternative? The high bidder should ask that his bid be changed to 30K today? It’ll get to the right number eventually. Why does it have to be on day 1?

And yes, 30 days is too long for an auction. But who tf cares? It will end soon enough.
