Quick answer to your question is yes, but not necessarily by a lot. The dust jacket is important to book collector. There was at least one other printing.
A bookseller online has one signed by Maris with a nice jacket for 1250, but has had it quite awhile. The value is in the Maris autograph in this case. The book is not particularly rare, but nice. It basically follows up a nice earlier series published by Putnam, which covered the original teams. I believe the Mack biography is also considered to be the Athletics in that series. It is a nice set and most went thru several printings with updates etc.
