One that got away
![]() In the late 90s, I was at a local flea market. Older gentleman had some new cards (80s/90s). I asked if he had any vintage. He said he he just sold some 50s cards (in a shoebox) to a guy standing by the table. That guy (I kid you not) ran away from the table, clutching the shoebox like he was on a prison break. Never seen a guy at a flea market run so fast. He then peeled out of the parking lot, dust and rocks flying. I talked to the older gentlemen later (we were both laughing about the other guy). Not sure what was in the shoebox, but my guess it was something good. Older guy did tell me he sold the entire box for $50. Oh well, good for that guy. Early bird gets the worm!
