Alan & Mark:
Such a rich tradition between the Orioles and the city of Miami! One year prior, Cal Ripken Sr. managed the Marlins and here is a Miami Herald Press Photo of him:  Bill Ripken liked this photo so much, he asked to borrow it to include it in his new book "State of Play," which came out earlier this week. Here is also a team signed ball from that '67 Marlins club....Amazing that Jim Palmer in just the prior October was pitching in the World Series, was sent down there to work on his ailing shoulder in the warm weather (started five games and pitched to a 2.00 ERA)
