Some of my favorite memories growing up was watching Purdue football games together with my dad. I remember being about 12 years old we watched Drew "Cool" Brees make his first start for Purdue. When Purdue came to Florida, I attended my very first football game Purdue vs. UCF. After that game...I was hooked.. dude could play.
I continued to follow Brees NFL career very closely, even after NFL scouts, team owners...said, "He's too small". He proved them wrong in San Diego. He had a nasty 1 in 500 type shoulder injury, which basically ended his career in most everyone eyes. He wanted to prove them wrong...and Saints allowed him to do just that. Couldn't be happier for Brees! He worked his butt off, proved people wrong, mastered his craft all while being a class act and never letting fame get to his head. As a Purdue Alum, I'm proud to say he's a Boilermaker.
