My dad always said if you don't ask you never know the answer so with that I would say this.....
You would probably want to reach out to the community relations department of the Cardinals and tell them this story. At worst you get nothing and at best you may get an invite to a ball game for the child and his family to meet his favorite players. It never hurts to ask. I would call them instead of sending an email to a generic email address. They will probably ask yo what you are looking for in terms of outcome of contacting them so shoot for the moon and ask for some tickets to the game and to meet the players. All they can say is no and send an autographed baseball. It is certainly worth a try. Good luck on helping this child out. It sounds like an awesome thing to do.
