This is very sad news. Ernie Montella was one of the nicest guys in this hobby. I first met Ernie in 1983 when we both set-up
at the famous Willow Grove Philly Show. In the early 1990's, Ernie and friends established the Philadelphia A's Historical Society in Hatboro, PA. Every November they would sponsor Breakfast gathering featuring former A's ballplayers (including Connie Mack III.....who kept us spellbound with his stories of his famed Grandfather).
