Thanks for all the contributions, they are very helpful.
Here is a cropped version of a 1911 "Champions" bi-fold postcard which was likely taken just after the end of the 1911 A.L. season, based on a postmark of 10-24-11 which was before the World Series was over (discussed on another thread here). It appears he is wearing the same sweater but buttoned up and without the ribbon. Interesting to note here and in "coming onto the field" shot shown above how haphazard the elephant locations are on the sweaters. AL-Champs-postcard.jpg
