This seems like a lot of drama for something that should be pretty straight forward. Sam says he only saw this thread about Jake's Cobbs, and inquired about them, not realizing they were sold.
Jake, you either knew they were sold when you asked Sam what he wanted to pay, which would be pretty rude, or you didn't and it was just a misunderstanding. Either way it's not worth getting so worked up over.
