In defense of the OP, you are incorrect. He has bumped the thread twice and never in less than three days. (within the BST guidelines)

The daily price drops in Post #1 are achieved by editing without bumping the thread. The current daily price could also be edited into the thread title as well.

Could this thread have been placed in the Live (Reverse) Auction section? I suppose, but I don't think it really matters.

Visibility of sales threads can be enhanced by creative techniques that encourage gratuitous bumping by others, which keeps the thread near the top without even trying.

Selling or not selling a Lenox Cobb in an endless thread without pricing is a whole different story.
