Also of note, Charleston played for Hilldale immediately after he left Harrisburg for the '28 & '29 seasons.
My first thought on the other player was that it looked kind of like Dihigo but the guy in the photo appears shorter and more well-built as opposed to the slender Dihigo during his early days in the 1920's. I did find this photo of Mackey on the internet, not sure exactly when this was taken or what Giants team this is. The lettering on the jersey looks very similar to the lettering on the jersey pictured in the original photo.
