What's the one vintage card you really wish you had back?

Mainly based on what you sold it for, versus what it's value is now..... Mine is a 1915 cracker jack joe jackson psa 8oc.... A close second, but not pre-war, was an sgc 92 1953 topps mantle.

Not prewar but I sold my 1968 Roberto Clemente in Mt condition last year. I wish I hadn't as it was the first "vintage " card I ever bought back when I was a kid. It was in a local card shop in a side case inside of a box that was marked "any card $2.00" I had seen the case in there many times before but when I finally asked to see what was in it I found the Clemente. Once I saw it I asked the shop owner if he really only wanted $2 bucks for it. He smiled and said that card was in there for a few years and he was waiting to see who would finnally find it. $2 Bucks, not bad. Not really sure why I sold it now.

1933 Goudey #41 Gus Mancuso. This was the very first pre-war card I purchased at a local (big at the time) card show in Dallas in the 1970s for $5. It was in fair-good condition with a stain in the corner. Wish I still had it.

1st one was sold for $1K to a lawyer on the West Coast from a Chicago National. The 2nd was sold for $8K to a gent in New York.

This one's a tie for me: (1) 1959 Bazooka Mantle SGC graded NMt; and (2) 1925 Exhibit Lou Gehrig rookie; both sold in a 2007 Goodwin auction.

I regret selling my OJ Harry Wright & Pud Galvin that I found in a yard sale in the late '80's. I got a decent price at the time I sold, but nothing like what they would be worth today!

I didn't appreciate what I had found back then & kinda' wish I still had them today!

Yes it did. The Wagner throwing was SGC 20 and the miller was SGC 50. I also had a Miller SGC 60.

T213-3 Ty Cobb with the factory overprint. It was a beautiful card. At least I managed to secure an SGC 50 E94 Wagner for it, but I miss the Cobb from the original Southern Find.
The other one was a red E98 Lajoie I sold to Rob D. At the time I was switching gears to go back in to private practice after working for the State for 10 years and needed some start-up money so I dumped some cards. Little did I know that the red Lajoie card would prove to be one of the scarcest cards around. I miss the Nap....

I had an SGC 10 which I got from Dan Paradise and SGC 20 dead centered which netted $14K...hard to turn down. The 20 had pin holes nice otherwise.

Jason- i think you came out ok if you got $14k for the 20 if it had pinholes. A recent one went for $18k, but i don't think it had issues other than corners and slight creasing....

Two that immediately come to mind for me -- 1911 Obak Ten Million and e92 Croft's Cocoa George Gibson.

Both cards went to good homes, though, so that makes it tolerable.

1939 signed Joe DiMaggio play ball. I had 2, so I flipped one to help pay for some others.

In retrospect, having both of them was so much cooler, knowing there's not even a handful of them out there.

Not much for prewar, as I rarely sell any. I have mild pangs ocasionally with the ones I have sold, but they all went to really good collections so it's fine.

Postwar I do miss the 48 Bowman set I put together for very little with most cards being poor. Sold it to pay for a ski trip.

The ones I really miss were a group of 76 Hostess proofs. Yellow and green instead of red and blue, reversed negatives, numbers over 150, screened and probably cropped differently. I traded a 74 McCovey washington for about 20 of them, and promptly traded half to a local dealer for another McCovey washington. I've never seen any others.

If any of you have one I wouldn't mind seeing it.
