I am happy to add another HOFer tobacco card to sit next to my Lajoie T206. The SGC holder is in crappy condition, so it will be sent to SGC for reholdering.

Default It had been a fairly consistent year

six cards in six months (missed three on eBay). Then in a 24 hour period, seven cards with Howe's stamp showed up on eBay...

Thanks to Leon, for moving my plea for bidding partners to the main board. Thanks to Erick, Iggy, John, Bobby and Eric for offering to be bidding partners.

(I hadn't noticed the printers register marks on the side of the Mullin until I scanned it.)

When I contacted the seller Dan, and told him of my collection, he checked his inventory and found one more that had not been listed, and sold it outright.

Default A Constable Stamp...on a Chase card...seems about right...

Just picked this up from eBay (Probstein) and while I normally steer clear of cards with qualifiers, had to have this one because:
a) it's a Chase in White Cap which I don't have;
b) it's in nice shape for a PSA 4;
c) it has the coolest stamp on the back...has anyone else seen any of these "constable" stamped cards???

I guess I'll have to be on the look out for anymore with this back stamp...now I know how Ed feels!!!

Hi Chris,

I've owned a few T206's with this same stamp.

Any chance the front of that card is Shaughnessy?

Default No, not resurrecting the Tobacco pack thread, but.....

I just picked up this fairly nice Piedmont slide box, 1910 tax stamp, no overstamp, with a handful of cigarettes remaining. Sadly, there is no card included (so I'm telling myself that it would have been a bird or flag):

C'mon, Pete, those were the two that I was looking for when they were on the BST. I was too cheap though and tried to get them at a discount from the seller, meanwhile I guess you jumped in and scooped them up. All kidding aside, nice pick-ups!

did you buy it already opened with the contents already known or did you buy it sealed not knowing what might be inside??

I bought it, already opened, knowing that any card had been removed (and several of the cig's had been smoked). However, the price was right (to say the least). Do you somehow know for a fact, Marty, that it would have been a bird or flag, or are you just supporting my rationalization for not being disappointed?

I was very pleased to pick up these three HOFers to add to my Cuban collection. The Dihigo was at the top of my wish list. The Dimaggio and Williams were a bonus.

Best regards,

Joe:

Great condition on the Dihigo card, that is probably the nicest one of those that I have seen.

Default Dihigo condition

Thanks Phil. I was real happy with the card's condition. It looks a lot better in hand than in the picture. I'm looking forward to having it graded.

Best regards,

Joe

Sounds good, an SGC 40/3 would be quite a nice grade for that set.
