great thread and great pics fellas.
i have a lone cuban---the baguer chocolate Grimm. i must say when folks take a look at my framed cards at the office, this one tends to be a favorite, in part because i tell them it's the smallest card in the world. frank, being just a few miles from cuba, i bet you get to see quite a few of your favs at shows down there. all the best, barry |

Hello buddy. I dont live in Miami anymore, I am up near Tampa, closer to your area. Iggyman I know lives down there. Your right, was close to Cuba then. Hope to go one day, when it is a Free Land(completely). Baguer of 1930 are cool, dont have one myself, yet. Kenny, very nice assembly, higher grade too. Great stuff. Paul, that is an interesting card. Not seen it before. I was waiting to see Travis to show his cubans. As S. Groos pointed out, the White Picket Fence seems to be in most of the Billiken's, though Travis has one without(TERAN). Would be cool to find out where in Cuba that was. Fence is probably long gone. This is from a really interesting set of cards that commemorates episodes during the successful 1933 revolution against the Machado regime that ultimately resulted in the Batista regime taking over. The card depicts the arrival in Havana of the former Spanish light-heavyweight amateur champion Lorenzo Gomez Naya. Gomez Naya went on to an undistinguished career in Cuba and the USA ending with WWII. Royal Cigars branding and back that mentions it is part of a series of cards depicting scenes from the revolution. The winners not only get to write the history, they also get to make the cards!
And a Susini Jack Johnson
