Great read Richard! It's amazing how Halper ended up owning so many of these items in his collection. Thanks for sharing this....

The only small issue is that the owner of that site has an outstanding warrant for his arrest concerning sports memorabilia, so there might be some bias there. Still interesting though....

Yes, I realize the author of this story might have some questionable credentials. Still, I thought the forum would find this very interesting.

That's my new favorite web site (except, of course, for net54). As for the source, bear in mind that many, many crooked enterprises are brought down by the ramblings of criminals.

I recall reading some of the earlier Peter Nash threads. I wasn't aware or can't remember that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Do you have a link to that reference? Thanks, Max

It's a warrant from REA and money he owes them. He made some bad decisions when he got in over his head. He may be biased but if it is factual info that shouldn't make a difference. It's a sad story for sure,

A "warrant for his arrest" and a "warrant from REA" are two different things entirely. The first is part of a criminal procedure, and I see nothing in your links which indicates something other than Mr. Nash was being investigated by the criminal authorities. By a "warrant from REA", you are presumably referring to the civil disputes and judgment REA has against Mr. Nash. These are civil, not criminal matters, and there would not be any arrest warrant issued. Max

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...hlight=warrant A civil arrest warrant was issued on behalf of REA auctions by the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division. Judge Yolanda Ciccone issued the arrest warrant. I am no lawyer I am just reading from the warrant. Maybe I can't read?

A civil arrest warrant differs from a criminal arrest warrant in that it directs a sheriff or sheriff’s deputy to arrest an individual and either take them to a hearing when civil court is in session or release them on a personal recognizance bond subject to their appearance in civil court.
With criminal warrants, the person charged can be arrested and taken directly to jail. |

Thanks for the clarification in terminology. In Canada, we don't refer to this process as a civil warrant. I also overlooked the civil warrant when I looked through the old links. Max
