1943 M.P & CO. (R302-1) One of the few baseball card sets issued during world war II, the set is unnumbered, and the cards measured approximately 2-5/8" X 2-1/4" and were produced in two major types and at least five subtypes. They were originally produced in strips and sold inexpensively in candy stores. M.P & Co. stands for Michael Pressner and Co., a new york city novelty and carnival supply firm. Best, Andy |

Tim: One of those pickups that makes me envious. What is the issue of the group of three? I really like that Murray card. The Adshead, which I suppose has been determined to be a Vancouver Peanuts card, is a keeper, too.

Hi Bob, Enjoy the chase on the C46s - I've picked up a few in the last year (though I'm not after the set). I like the cards! You'll find a fair few offered out of Canada, of course. The Gandil still seems to command quite a high price when offered. Cheers, Blair

| International Association Detroit Wolverines

A special pick-up for me last week on eBay at a great price. Rooks is amongst the tougher, if not the toughest, International Association Detroit card. Only one of Rooks five poses are known with Detroit (his other cards being 1888 Chicago Maroon cards). This card goes well with my Wheelock OJ and a great letter from manager Robert Leadley to Robert Allen in which both Wheelock and Rooks are mentioned while Manager Leadley apologizes for not being able to sign Robert Allen. This letter is one of several I was able to purchase from Rhys Yeakley awhile back, the contents follow: Quote:

The back set is coming along swell. Glad I have a Hindu! This one was fairly cheap. I don't mind the ink on the back. I still think the Sweet Caps are much harder to find listed on major sites at fair prices than the Piedmonts! Check out my collection link below if you want to see the rest.

| It's Been A Really Good Month

May has been a great month for finding elusive cards in sets I am collecting. I finally managed to snag the final color variation of Jennings in the E94 set. The blue one was much tougher to find than any other color for me when it came to old Ee-yah. |

I was pleased to get this one. It has a hairline crease through the center, which isn't visible in the scan. If I were to get it reholdered, would PSA update the flip to show that it's a Piedmont? I don't want to pay the shipping charge just to get one card reholdered; do they reholder at the National? red ames hands at chest.JPGred ames hands at chest back.JPG |

Nice Old Judge Rawn. A couple of V100's. I like the writing on the back although it would kill the grade if slabbed. No plans for me to slab these.
