Need some help with this card.. It feels thicker then a normal card would..and the back is curious.. on the back where all the very small lines should be, the ink is just glopped together... not a high priced card.. so it would be wierd for someone to go through this much effort for a fake.. also in pencil on the back it looks like the following is written "NO!" ... otherwise the card looks good.. any thoughts?

Unless it offends your moral sensibilities, I would get an art eraser from Staples and gently erase the pencil. Don't use a standard eraser! It is faint enough that there would probably be no trace of it.

Does the front have a gloss to it? It almost looks like a coating of some kind has been applied, which I guess might give it a thicker feel?

My guess is the card was kept in a humid environment or got wet at some point. That will thicken a card. Ever drop a paperback book in a pool (or a bathtub, or an ocean, or a sea, or a pond, or a river, or a billabong)? Same effect.
The only reason why cards don't thicken when collectors purposely soak them is because they then dry the cards between paper towels under pressure, ie with a weighted object, such as a heavy book, on top. Last edited by Anthony S.; 03-03-2010 at 11:18 AM. |

fakes are easy to spot (reprints). yours is authentic
The caption has never been reprinted correctly, either the font, spacing, or ink color is usually wrong |
