Kaline's rookie was 1953 so in my opinion he looks very young has to be in his 20's. |

Leon, or anyone else who is interested. Here is Kaline from 1957 Yearbook on the left and 1962 yearbook on the right. |

The key to dating it will be in the Dad's Company info. The Exhibit card its printed on could be from anywhere between 1953-66. |

Frank is right--the key is not the photo, but the Dad's Cookie info. Exhibits used and re-used the same photos for years, so the youthful face on the front means little. The typeset is helpful, though, as it dates the card from after 1956. For an interesting explanation on dating exhbits, see the description for this Kaline exhibit currently up for sale on ebay: |

Three of these hit Ebay last year. I picked up one. Always assumed it was just a '63 exhibit w/ a Dad's back. Guess I got a pretty good deal - shoulda bid more on the Kaline. Lemke asked me to send him scans, but said it was probably too late to include it in the '06 SCD. |

as we all know, kaline came up when he was 17. the picture is of an older, fuller face (imo). i would guess early to mid 1960's. |

Glen, I don't think much of anything new will be in next year's SCD according to what Bob told me. |

David, your probably right, but back in Sep. he planned to include them. From his e-mail: "We're going to include the Dad's Exhibits in the 2007 edition of the Standard Catalog as I think I've got the checklist figured out." Sounds like there are more than three of them... |
