Here's Bill from the '41 Double Play set ... I wonder why he wasn't in any of the Play Ball sets? I collect the Reds from the Play Ball sets, and there are no Werbers or Lombardis in any of the three ... |

It was sad to read the last few lines of the story. He's such a kind man. Players like Werber are the reason I (and many of you, I suspect) continue to be intrigued by baseball's golden age. Guess it goes without saying that the absence of such dignity on today's diamonds is the reason I have only watched one baseball game in the last 17 years. |
