Frank WakefieldFirst, I'm opposed to the use of the various drugs that MLB has banned. Wish they'd done that sooner.
But secondly, I'm totally against Congress having a hearing on it. I'd like for one of the players to sue one of the Congressmen for abuse of process.
The States were here first. The States got together and formed a Union. The Union has limited power... declare war, regulate commerce between the States, have a united front in international affairs, "maintain" a Navy, "raise" an Army when necessary... The States retained control of everything else. It is in the Constitution, a POWER LIMITING document that LIMITS the power of Federal Government. Everything else Congress should stay out of, not meddle in. And notwithstanding that baseball crosses State lines, I don't think Congress has any authority to mess with it.
I'd tell them that I'm not going to sit there and read to them, anything printed that I wanted them to have I'd mail in advance. Similarly, if they have something printed for me, mail it. It is a waste of everyone's time to sit and read or be read to. If they have questions, fire away. But when we're done, someone in Congress is going to be sued over abuse of process because they lack the authority to do anything about it, and I'll want my expenses and punitive damages.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr......
