Default T207 private sale

Still trying to figure this one out after hearing about it from a fellow collector this morning. Someone paying 100 grand for incomplete set of T207 in about EX condition raw....consisting of 190 cards and missing the most valuable 10 or so variations (Lowdermilk, etc)

If this deal really occurred, somebody spent at least twice as much as they should have. Maybe the economy is in better shape than I think it is?

I'll sell mine, complete with all the variations and much nicer than EX.

Maybe he reads the board

then unlikely they'll respond given that they would have defend themselves and/or justify their purchase. It is however a lofty sum. I once KNOWINGLY paid nearly three times what a card was worth just because I wanted it and wanted it THEN. Fortunately it was only a 45.00 purchase

my 6 T207 Cubs (including a Saier) for anything north of $40,000!
That would put a nice dent in my school loans...

He can't have my t207 cubs But if he has a Saier and Miller at a reasonable price, I would take his.

Ken

1880nonsports,

why do you think they need to defend or justify themselves???
Did he/she borrow the money from you? Why do you care what someone else spends their money on? Maybe they just wanted them, at that time. Just like you did on your $45 card. And responding by saying "it was only $45" wont justify it. Maybe $100k to him/her is like $45 to you and me, ever thought of that?

sorry but statements like that just take the fun out of this board.
