Looking for a little help on the potential value for this RARE T206 Mathewson dark cap color separation card. I know that color variations are tough to find, but we've never seen one for a top level HOFer like Matty. |

My guess would be in the $5,000 range, but it is really hard to say on a card like that. Great card! |

It's interesting that all of the cards that I have seen over the years with those colors missing have exactly the same back. It must've been only one sheet. |

A similar example sold on 08-06-04. I will have to go thru old records to find the price, seller, etc., but here was the scan: |

...was in my hands for a short time. I sold it for about $300 in cash and trade value combined. The purchaser flipped it on ebay where it fetched about $325. But the Baker had more than just yellow colors. It had some green, too. And Baker's skin was quite pink. I think it was basically just missing the blue. That's why I didn't think much of it. Really, I found it to be quite ugly. |

...I do not think it's a good test specimen for the Mathewson, because that Baker was only missing the blue -- his skin was pink, there was some green, and, of course, yellow. The Matty is only the yellow, which I believe is the first stage of the coloring process. Blue, I believe, was the last stage of the process, and it missed just that one. |

THere is a card just listed on EBAY that looks like it came from the same sheet as this Matty. Same back and everything. |
