Rather than continue the Cobb thread, I will pick up at the end and note my favorites. Speaking of a popular restaurant: "Nobody goes there any more, it's too crowded." Asked whether he wanted his pizza cut into six or eight slices: "Better make it 8, I'm hungry." And my all time favorite, "I never said half the things I said." And just to make this on topic, has there ever been a finer Berra card than the 53 Bowman Color? |

There are a lot of Berraisms, but a few non-Yogi quotes that come to mind about baseball. Anonymous batter after taking three strikes against Walter Johnson complains to umpire, "The third one sounded low." Reggie Jackson on Tom Seaver: "He's so good blind people come to the park just to hear him pitch." Bill Lee, asked to comment on his impressions of the 1976 World Series after game two: "Tied." |

When a reporter asked what he thought of the Buccaneer’s execution following a loss-- "I think it's a good idea." |

I agree that the '53 color Bowman is Berra's best card. Same as to Whitey Ford. Mantle's is nice too, but I grew up a few years later so my earliest images of Mick are his '57 and '58 Topps cards. Still my favorites and can't choose between the two. |

When Yogi's wife told him the people for the Vinetian blinds were at his house, he said "give them $5.00 from my wallet." |

I have only one superstition. I touch all the bases when I hit a home run. |

where, after the game on a muggy hot Florida day, a woman was surprised how refreshed Yogi looked. "Yogi, you look so cool!', she yelled. He responded "Thanks, you don't look so hot yourself". |

Nobody's going to bump into Yogi at a MENSA meeting, but the guy is a class act. |

How could Berra be anything other than a great orator? He studied under the perfesser for years! You remember him? |
