This is an incredible 370 page book broken down by team with tons of pictures and great reading. If you were not a member this past year, you can still buy this book for thru SABR $24.95 plus shipping. If you were a member, you got this book for free. The American League edition is slated for 2006. |

			Posted By: Durward As a member of SABR, I can vouch for Jay’s comments that the Deadball Stars is an excellent publication.  Plenty of information is available on the superstar players like Matty and Honus.  What makes this book special is that it has the biographies of the more obscure star players (e.g. Patsy Donovan, Slim Sallee, Jake Daubert, Bill Doak …) in this era.  I think this group would enjoy and well worth the price of $25. |
