Problem with Topps T206 Buyback

I would say no because ive seen notes on newer packs that states (in my own words) that they dont guarantee any future value of the cards in the packs, maybe they had a problem in the past.....and from what ive seen topps makes no mention of a certain condition the cards will be in,so basically you can get a poor condition one like you got or a gem mint condition one because they only say its an authentic card,no mention that it could be altered which im sure they didnt check every card that came in for the giveaway for....i would say youre lucky you even got a hall of famer because 99% of them were commons |

Topps makes no gaurentee as to the card being unaltered, only that it is authentic. Considering that they the got the cards from dealers, and having seen then general consition of the cards, it's highly unlikely a dealer gave Topps and high grade cards unless they knew they had problems. |

You should have left the card in the Topps holder - they seem to be worth more the PSA or SGC ones. |

Problem with Topps T206 Buyback

I just won a buyback on ebay with the desire to break it out and send it in to be graded. Maybe I'll look closely before breaking it out and see if I can find evidence of trimming first. |

If I recall correctly, there was one of these 'graders' that encapsulated and graded the T206 buyback. The grade assigned was for the Topps holder and not for the card inside. |

SGC said that they wouldnt grade it in the topps holder, and that I would have to remove it from the "frame" prior to submission. If I had known that this much trouble couldve been avoided by just leaving it in the topps holder, I definitely would have. I feel cheated by topps. |

Mike, thats why they put the disclaimer on there,i read it before but dont have it with me now to quote it... you rally shouldve left it in the holder for resale purposes. If youre doing it to collect t206's,you wouldve been much better off financially just buying them raw off ebay......there only placed in every 110 packs,at 3+ dollars each, and a great chance to get a common in vg,you see how unwise it is...if youre collecting the new "t206" cards than i still think ebay is cheaper, for what ive seen the lots go for |

of them that I buy from the store up the street.....usually $15-$20 for VGEX to EX ones.....I did open a box and get a southern leaguer that I actually needed for my set! That was pretty cool. It was about EX or so which covered the $65.00 for the box. Unfortunately, I like to open new stuff sometime.....I've got complete sets of the small Polar Bears from first two series but lost some interest on the 3rd series...... |

That's why Kit Young bought a lower grade Duffy I was selling. Another mystery solved. Someone's gonna get a HOFer beater. |
