Matty dark cap. Looks nice but I can't afford it. But I figured one of my friends on the broad might like it. Robert http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1574442177&rd=1 |

Glad I could help you guys out. Not much gets by me. Just to bad I can't afford a lot of the stuff I see. I do have three Piedmont 42 backs and would love the Matty. I bet this is going to go pretty high at the end. Should be interesting to watch the seconds tick away to see how many people saw it. Rob |

I am new to pre-war collecting, how can you tell it is factory 42? I can't make out the bottom of the card. |

At the very bottom right side you will see the letters N.C. |

N.C. stands for North Carolina with very few Piedmonts were made. Only Piedmont 350-460 have these backs. Rob |

Wow had me fooled I figured it would go a lot higher. Only 349.00. Pretty good price I would say. |

I'm not terribly knowledgeable about the T206s but it doesn't seem like it went for that much more than any other Matty in that shape (in fact a Portrait would have gone for more!). It did have a lot of bids though ... |

But a Piedmont 42 in that condition would normally go for $125-$200, so I think interested bidders were only willing to pay the going "black cap Matty" rate. |

that Don Betz publishes - you've probably seen references to it on the board. I was referring to issue #26 - they are on #33 now. You can order back issues by checking out their web-site (see my vintage links). |
