So, it is fresh code. It was only intended to fix the pictures. We can address other issues as we go but we are looking at different software too..

I am pretty sure all of the avatars will eventually show up. My guess, and it's only a guess, is that they are cached and the images will catch up. We'll see.

This is Mike Berkus (RIP) speaking at one of the Net54baseball dinners. I think he spoke at 3-4 of them. He passed away in 2015. He was a vintage collector, among other things, from way back. Actually, I am not positive it's a Net54 dinner but they looked the same. I would guess Lyman (Old Cardboard) might have taken some pics back then, as that is on the image I loaded.

No thanks needed, but you're welcome! The system was broken and had to be fixed.

Pictures are very important for the forum. The software is old and needs to be updated.
The forum is going to have a very updated look to it, probably in the first quarter of '26, as we are jumping up 3 software versions at once, from VB 3.8 to VB 6.1

It should still have the same general structure. I like the format...

There will be quite a bit of testing done before it goes live and I am hoping to have the old forum on stand by, just in case....and knock on wood we don't have some kind of malicious attack again before that. To that end, we have started more robust backups in case of a disaster. If we lose a day or two of the newest data, the world won't get too chaotic. IF we lose all of the data, that would really suck.

Leon, I see some of the avatars (yours for example) but others are still not showing up. However, I am seeing pictures that are being posted which are more important than seeing the avatars so if this is what it will be like until the software upgrade, we should be ok. Thanks.

I am 98% sure that the avatar thing is a caching thing. So, the more you are on the forum the longer it's going to take for those avatars to come back, but I think they will, eventually. I haven't tried fixing mine (maybe reloading it) as I don't really care that much.
I am sure there will be other functionality in the new s/w but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

I re-uploaded mine, and it is showing now.

Having it 'broken' was fueling my neurosis.
