Default Is it just me? Memory...

I can remember card deals from 20+ yrs ago and I can't remember what I did yesterday, sometimes?

I can remember minute details of the deals too!

A guy agreed to sell this to me on ebay, put up a BIN, and in less than 30 seconds someone else snagged it. He renegged and I bought it... It's also undergraded by a grade or so, imo. $2139 delivered (NFS)

..(shown before as I can't afford anything new)

Why do I keep seeing so many of these cards graded so low, when they look so awesome?

Humans are generally better at solving problems than memory.

Memory is a very overrated and scarily over-trusted human trait.

Usually spider wrinkles (only seen at an angle) caused by bad soaking or pinholes are to blame when it comes to Ex-Mt looking cards getting 1-2s from graders.

A beauty of a card!

And no, it is not just you. I can remember small things I bought 40 to 45 years ago at a flea market / garage sale like a 1943 pack of Coca-Cola playing cards still sealed for $5.00 (many years later sold for $420.00) but don't ask me what I had for dinner last night.

A good one, whether an intentional duplicate post or not.

Memory is a very interesting thing. I feel the same way, but study after study shows that our memory is nowhere near as accurate as we think it is, and the more years that pass the more memories are embellished, tweaked, edited, massaged, etc. I have three brothers and it's amazing to me how differently even the most "classic" family stores continue to develop and change over the years as we get older. Get all 4 of us in the same room and the same story comes out differently almost every time, with everyone insisting that their version is accurate. People will argue over even the most basic details, like whether it happened in the summer or the winter. And be adamant that they are right.
