Default Vintage Card Deal Finder and Collection Value Tracker Tool

*This is a paid ad post*

Hey Guys! Apologies for the long post, but I think it will be worth the read!

For the past few months I have been working very hard on a site that I think could save both collectors and dealers a lot of time and money. This site was created for fellow vintage collectors and is a hub to help vintage folks do a few different things more efficiently. Here are those things:

The Deal Finder Tool: The Deal Finder Tool was created to eliminate the overpriced fluff from the vintage card market over on eBay. The tool essentially finds a recent average sale price of a particular card in a particular condition/grade and compares current active listings to that price. Any active listings that are priced below that average, are filtered through as a deal. It’s a much more efficient way to search eBay for fairly priced cards. These listings show a picture of the card and a link from the tool to the actual listing on eBay for purchase.

The Comp Finder Tool: The Comp Finder tool is a much easier way to check comps for vintage cards, and automatically calculates an average recent price for a particular card in a particular condition/grade (the 5 most recent sales for raw cards, the 3 most recent sales for graded cards). The search pulls up recent sales for that card in all available raw conditions and all available grades in seconds, which is much more efficient than the current process of comp checking.

The Collection Tracker Tool: The Collection Tracker Tool uses those recent averages calculated from the Comp Finder Tool and allows users to input actual cards from their collection and its particular condition/grade and track the total value of your HOFer collection in real time! It is an awesome resource for collectors to have access to and it can be updated and changed at anytime. The tool is unique to each user so the total value displayed will be unique to your collection and the cards you input.

After months of building, testing, feedback, and personal use I am finally confident enough to release the site out to the public for use. I have added a 3 day free trial to the site for you guys to register and test it out for a few days. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and many users have made/saved much more than the monthly cost already. If you do decide to subscribe after or during the free trial, it can be cancelled at any time in the future as well. I would love for you guys to have the opportunity to check it out if you think this may be something of interest. Any feedback is helpful for the creation of a better tool, as this is something I am planning to continue building on to improve the subscriber experience. Below is the link to the site where you can register for the free-trial:

Thank you!

Why does your site not disclose the price of subscription on the main page? If one gets brave and clicks on the start trial button, the price of admission after the trial is still not disclosed.

Why aren't there visual examples of the site and its GUI for prospective users to see without having to blindly signing up for membership?

Your post makes a lot of claims with nothing to back it up that I can see.

Thanks for the feedback! There are still some updates and changes I would like to make to the welcome page of the site, which includes sample pictures and possibly videos of the site in action prior to users having to register.

The subscription price is listed on the welcome page at $5 per month in the top paragraph.

Thank you for the correction on pricing. I missed that when I posted.

I have added screenshots of each of the tools within the site to the welcome page if you want to check them out! Thanks for the feedback! More of that is what I need to create the best tool possible.

I look forward to trying this out, as I'm sure others do. And hopefully we'll manage to get our feedback to you a bit more politely than some... 🧐

What time frame are you using to figure out the average price? For the Comp Finder, you says its the 5 most recent sales for raw cards, the 3 most recent sales for graded cards. Is that the same data used for the Deal Finder?

Good lord, I couldn’t agree with you more… best of luck and why, oh why, are some people on here such angry cranks? I just don’t get it.

Best of luck - I can tell you put a lot of effort and heart into this and I wish you well. I’ll take a close look for sure.

Thank you for that! I’ve got a pretty thick skin. Feedback is what helps me improve the tool, whether it be positive or negative. Thankfully, the vast majority so far has been positive. Looking forward to you trying it out!

Yes. That is correct. The deal finder uses those same criteria to compare active listings too. That is why at times when a user searches a more rare card (Ex. Goudey Ruth) it won’t populate any deals, because there aren’t enough recent sales of that card to compare the active listings too. I wanted to create the tool in a way that was as thorough as possible with as little outliers as I could.

Thank you for those kind words. I indeed have put months of hard work and effort into creating this and have coded and adjusted it all myself. I had a vision in mind of something that I thought would help collectors save time and money, so I began building. I’m not looking to get rich off of this thing. I just wanted to make something to help vintage card folks out.

Not trying to compete with VCP at all. The emphasis of my tool is a deal finder, not tracking prices. It’s just another small tool that’s an addition for users. Although I am a little confused as to the purpose of your reply?

Is there also an amount of time that the most recent sales have to have occurred in such as last 3 months (or some other time period)? If the last 3 or 5 sales were all a long time ago, it's harder to say if they are still really relevant for current pricing.

Yes. They must be within the past 90 days.

Yes it is a tool that VCP has had since we started 20 years ago and it is in our
AFP tab...Available for Purchase

Here is a Ruth card and you can see it give the current asking or bid price and below that the VCP price average..you can see some are much higher and some lower. You want to find a deal then click and takes you right to that auction

Very Cool. Does it support active BIN listings on eBay or just auctions?

Very nice! I know you guys have built an amazing tool and I can’t compete as a one man show when it comes to pricing data and scale. I honestly had no clue you guys offered the ability to purchase cards through your site. I thought it was just a price checker. Not trying to steal any of your market by any means or step on anyone’s toes. I just had an idea, created it, used it for myself for a while, found out that it works, and decided to publish it for others to use.

I am genuinely confused as to where the negativity is coming from with a lot of the replies. I’m not out to get anyone or steal any market share. I truly believe I have created a product that is unique and useful for a lot of vintage collectors. That was my whole intention, create something that would help people save time/money and make the vintage hobby a bit more enjoyable.

No negativity towards you at all..just seems like there are so many now. We started 20 years ago and the first platform to start covering graded cards and at the time there was 1 other I think it was CardPricer I believe. They did not last very long.... now after the pandemic and the card craze 5 years ago things have changed....

I never wanted to be the only one and believe that there being competition validates the need. We were the only company that would get listings live so that we can help collectors get what they need and not just pricing data.

If there is anything I can do to help you move forward reach out and I will do what I can to help.
