I will post more pics...These are very tough to find!
That Cardinals helmet is a gamer from Ted Simmons. Came from a charity auction. He provided his helmet and other stuff to help raise funds. Last edited by gregndodgers; 04-29-2025 at 10:10 AM. |

In many cases, the team logo on helmets from the 1960s was painted on!

Pennants. I might be slightly biased.

These threads always just turn into people telling them what they collect is the best investment. Not that I'm complaining because we always get to see peoples cool stuff like that pennant room!

I remember having a conversation with a guy from New York Life, who was trying to sell me an annuity. He mentioned some of the investments that comprised the portfolio he was pitching to me. I asked him which of them he, personally, was invested in. His long, awkward pause basically concluded the discussion. |

Here is one that fits a couple different Memorabilia catagories already discussed. 1902 Stanley Cup program. Fits Hockey, Fits Programs, and before 1910.
And it fits the Memorabilia catagory that most of us who collect Memorabilia find we have. "To rare to care". Attempting to collect Stanley Cup Programs from before the NHL era 1927 to present is futile. Less than a handful known. But Rare dose not equal valuable. Like rare type cards interesting but not enough demand to create any value. So while agree collecting what you love is the most sound stratagy for this Hobby..Investing demands a different mindset. Watching current player cards sell for 5 sometimes 6 figures. Is something I cannot wrap my mind around. But good for those collectors who have figured the Investing angle out. Beating the flea markets and garage sales card shows and ebay for the next item that puts a smile on my face and doesn't dent my wallet too hard. Has been working for me. |
