Default George Mikan Signed Photo (1948 Bowman Rookie Card Pose)

I originally posted this in the main group but only received a single response before it was buried. Perhaps it's better suited to this particular area anyway.

I purchased this photo this past summer from a gentleman in Minnesota. I'm not well versed in photos, but since this one has an autograph extremely similar to the example that sold through Heritage this past summer for $8700.

Can I safely assume that my photo (in admittedly worse condition) is also a Type 1?

Any thoughts on value in the current condition?

Would it be worth getting authenticated and slabbed considering the condition issues? If so, I may take it to Chicago this summer with hopes to get it done there in person (assuming this is possible as it is admittedly outside my main collecting focus).

Tim Great photo. I cannot tell type but I can say that I don't believe PSA will be able to slab it at National. I regularly take items to Philly show ( cards Autographs tickets) but they don't accept Photo's. In my experience they need to be packed and sent separately. I do think if you are selling that it is worth sending in. And either way have Photo expert in Chicago let you know what type it is. Best of luck..

Hard to tell just by looking at it, but I think it's worth sending in. Roll the dice.

I have no idea of the answer but do they even grade photos with signatures or do you have to get the signature authenticated/graded instead?

They will dual grade.. Type the photo and authenticate and geade auto. And Protect it in a case. All for a price.

If you contact Customer service they will walk you through submitting it.
