Same. I grew up with Mel and TWiB.
As someone who didn't live in a team local broadcast area I had the Cubs (WGN), the Braves (TBS), and whatever random national broadcast or ESPN game was being showed. TWiB filled in a lot of holes that short sports segment highlights couldn't... When I was a teenager it was much the same, but at least Baseball Tonight showed up on ESPN in 1990+ and I could get a daily fix beyond a few minutes of highlights. I love how you can watch everything now. Aside from regional team broadcast blackouts this is a golden age of televised baseball media content. |

I watched it every week. It's the only time I got to hear Mel Allen growing up in the Midwest. It was a Saturday habit to catch up on the week's events.

I always liked TWiB and rarely missed watching, Mel's voice was gold.
I also used to stay up and watch George Michael and his sweet ass sports machine, simpler times. |

Way back.. about 20 years ago, I sold George Michael a bunch of wire photos. It was pretty cool to go back and forth via email with him.

AppleTV has several episodes of TWIB available. I really enjoyed rewatching their old shows from the late 70s and early 80s…TWIB notes! Takes me back to a simpler time when I was just a young baseball nerd.
Yes, The George Michael Sports Machine was also must-see-TV. Hit the button, George!

Berman was the one with all the "nicknames", I think. Such as, Fernando "Bodacious" Tattis.
