You'd smile too, like Gus Zernial, who, legend has it, introduced Joe DiMaggio to Marilyn Monroe.

Barney Joy may not be smiling in this picture, but he was the first Hawaiian to play in pro ball, winning 17 and losing 21 for the San Francisco Seals in 1907. He played in the Honolulu League outside that year, and was the league's best batter and pitcher.

Only a handful of the 75 cards in the 1941 Double Play set feature two smiling faces...this one is a favorite.

George is so happy to be included in the T207 set. Plus a recent cartoon from my newspaper.

I just noticed that Gus is looking pretty laughtastic in his 1960 Topps card. He is even smiling in his batting pose photo. And not surprisingly, the Reds baseball mascot with a ball for a head and sporting a handlebar mustache appears pretty happy as well.
Joy meter is at 11 for this card. Brian |
