There are several caption flaws in the t206 set a few are cataloged but most are not.
I have been keeping track of the ones I know of for several years and one of them is this Ames flaw I found. It has a flaw in the A in NAT"L Ames Print defect - Copy.jpg Of all the caption flaws I have been tracking this one has the least examples that I've found with 6 different examples 5 Piedmont 150's and 1 Sweet Caporal 150 factory 25. Here are scans of the 6 I know of one of them was soaked and re-graded (3A and 3B) PD150-1.jpg PD150-2.jpg 3A PD150-3A.jpg 3B PD150-3B.jpg PD150-4.jpg PD150-5.jpg SC150-25-1.jpg If anyone has or knows of a different one and wants to post it here I will add it to the list. |

Neat, thanks for sharing Pat
As always, great work here! I checked my Ames S150 and no error ![]() Let me know what others you are aware of so I can check for them too, later On a similar note, have you found any new ‘printer’s marks’ or other repeat oddities? Like the odd mark on the back of some EPDG Covaleski’s Thanks Again, talk soon |

Hi Colton, I have around 100 but I still have to do the research on some of them, one of the recent ones is this Strang with two stray marks. I've only found them on SC350/30 and Tolstoi, The SC350/30's also have a flaw on the back. SC350-30-1 - Copy.jpg SC350-30-3.jpg Tolstoi-2.jpg |

In December 2016, I posted here about the missing DOT in the Wiltse (pitching) caption. Refer to thread.... https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=232626
![]() This type of printing omission of a DOT in the Wiltse (pitching) caption is unique to this subject. I have checked-out all the other T206's in this set with the caption N. Y. both AL and NL. I'm quite certain that they all have their DOTS. Furthermore, I have checked out all my Wiltse (pitching) cards in my various sets.... AMERICAN BEAUTY 460, PIEDMONT, SOVEREIGN, SWEET CAPORAL 350 Factory 30. And single Wiltse's such as OLD MILL, POLAR BEAR, and the UZIT shown here. The DOT is missing on all of them. Therefore, I don't think we can call this a "variation". ![]() ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . |
