PayPal issue, looking for information and feedback.

I made a $1500 purchase with someone through Facebook using PayPal. After sending money, Paypal said they were holding the Sellers money that I sent him for 180 days. I confirmed with Paypal that this was true, but I was curious why and they would not tell me. Does anybody know why this would be the case? Unfortunately the seller decided to reroute the package once he discovered he would not be receiving the money for a long time and I decided to open a case to get a refund. Anyone had a similar situation Thanks

Could well be that he owes Paypal money from another transaction gone wrong. Not 100% but a plausible scenario.

That sucks, I had PayPal do that to me once for a eBay sale. I was just happy the buyer never asked for a refund after they used the tickets to a sold out concert.

Found out he is a scammer so stay away from Lamont west Verdon

Thanks for alerting the forum to a scammer. Paypal is pretty good in most circumstances, with regular goods transactions.
