Edit: one more request: if you know the date of the source photo please post it, I would like to narrow things down a bit if possible.
I need some help identifying these. The first one is a cabinet photo of a barbershop with a poster on the wall that says "All-Star Base Ball Nine" on the top and "Great Western Tailoring Co Chicago" on the bottom. Does anyone recognize the specific photos or know what they were used for? Potential IDs (left to right; top to bottom): 1) Ed Walsh (Novelty Cutlery image) 2) Johnny Kling (M101-2 image) 3) Honus Wagner 4) WaJo? 5) Ty Cobb (Plow's Candy image) 6) Wildfire Schulte 7) Hal Chase 8) Eddie Collins (Plow's Candy image) 9) Harry Lord (Cracker Jack image) Barber Photo - Great Western Tailor Co.jpg Barber Photo - Great Western Tailor Co - crop 1000 DPI.jpg The second is a tobacco shop with an M101-2 (1909-1913) of Fred Clarke hung up on the right in front of some Sweet Caporal boxes along with another set of photos on the left. I looked for a while to try to find a set that used that combination of images, but struck out. Same thing as above - if you have player ids or know what this relates to, I would love to hear it. There appears to be another row of 3 under the fan. Potential IDS (left to right; top to bottom): 1) Willie Keeler 2) Mordecai Brown 3) ??? 4) John McGraw 5) Roger Bresnahan (Police Gazette cover) 6-8) Covered by Don Marino sign 9) Christy Mathewson (T206 dark cap pose) 10) Covered by fan 11) Mostly covered by fan 12) Covered by fan RPPC Tobacco Great West Tailor & M101-2 Clarke a.jpg RPPC Tobacco Great West Tailor & M101-2 Clarke a - Crop 1000 dpi large.jpg THANKS!

Bottom left corner is Hal Chase. I wonder if this poster is the source of the Chase pic/supplement someone was asking about earlier today/yesterday?

Nice! Good spot. I know I have seen a lot of these photos before, including that one, they frustratingly aren't coming to mind.
Funny timing that it might solve the mystery in the other thread just posted, good spot there too: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=267096

The Fred Clarke by itself on the right is for sure from M101-2. Possibly some others, I will try to check my set

On the poster, the first bunting player is probably Ed Walsh. It looks like the same image from his Novelty Cutlery postcard.

Thanks Andrew! Three more down.
Andrew also suggested to me that the images in the tobacco store might be magazine pages, which fits with the extra white space at the bottom. Though they would seem to be from a pretty small publication because they are a lot smaller than the M101-2 Clarke. Maybe they are from one of the pile of periodicals on the counter or on the very left side of the photo.

Not necessarily the entire page but certainly cut from the pages is a possibility. That’s where those images would be easily found anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And the more I look at them the more they look like supplements or premiums associated with a publication. I don’t think we’re looking at one piece but rather multiple images placed together. Almost looks like there are more behind the fan too. Really wish we had a higher res scan. Too bad.

I'll see what I can do about the scans. I have 3-4 MB pictures on Flickr - obv can't post those here bc they are too big. I can take better scans though, as I have a nicer scanner. I think the limitation might be the originals, not the scan, but we shall see!

As promised, here are 1000 DPI scans of both. (I swapped out the lower res cropped shots in the first post too.)

All Star Poster... Bottom row in the middle... I thought it was Eddie Collins. I remembered a photo in my collection that looked like that image (see below), but that is not it.
I think it's Ty Cobb on your poster. Here is the photo I was thinking of...

Just remembered this thread and thought I would bump it to see if anyone has more ids (first post is updated) for these photos or has any idea what the Great Western Tailoring Company did that involved baseball.

In the photo with the fan, can you make out what's on the Saturday Evening Post advertisement? That might give you an approximate date.

It took some digging, but I found it. This ad is referring to The Losing Game by Will Payne. It was originally issued as 9-part serial in The Saturday Evening Post from 10/2/1909 - 11/27/1909. It was later published as a book (copyright Feb 25, 1910, published March 9, 1910). So, I guess we have a 9- or 10-week window for this one! Ironically, it appears the story had nothing to do with sports:

If I had to guess the images in the 2nd photo may be pages of images found in Police Gazettes. Pages look much smaller than the M101-2.
I have never seen a true premium with that catcher pose that may be Bresnahan, so it's more likely a photo with captions below in the Police Gazettes. Patrick |

More research is needed but these may be Police Gazette supplements after all. The second one from the left is Mordecai Brown:

With some help from a new friend I am able to confirm that the id for #5 on the RPPC is Bresnahan. He is also confident that these are not from the Police Gazette because they are much too small for that publication.
