Picked these up a few years ago. Had never seen before or since. Would love to try and complete the set...though that seems like a daunting task. Each volume contains every L.A. Rams home program from that year, including the preseason. I have 1959, 1961 and 1964. Not sure how many years these were produced or how you got them but I'm guessing it's a safe bet that 1960, 1962 and 1963 are out there somewhere. Each volume has a name embossed on the front. 1959 and 1964 have the name J.R. Osherenko. The 1961 edition has the name Tom Arthur on it. Haven't been able to learn anything about those names. Guessing that these were gifts to sponsors or employees? Or possibly available via mail-order?
Lots of cool stories and ads in these. Particularly cool to learn an entire set of NFL bobble heads would've set you back only 12 dollars in 1961. Why the hell didn't my father fill the garage? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Check that...An entire set would set you back $12.25. Can't forget or beat that $0.25 postage.

Interesting. I hope you can locate more to round out the collection. Perhaps they were given to advertisers that signed on for the full year?

Love it!
For a full set, they may have had to do $3 postage....12 X .25.

Thanks Rob...No other site that I'm aware of comes close to the focus on vintage and knowledge base of the subscribers, that we have here. Would love to see a football specific section. I know football is lumped in the "all other" category in the B/S/T card section. I think it deserves it's own space.

Rob- I have collected programs and media guides for decades but probably rank at a 2 out of 10 as far as being an expert.
Over the years I have seen these complete program sets for teams from about 1957 up to around 1972. I don't know if these were produced by each team or if the league issued a certain amount of sets. I am guessing they were a team by team project since the bindings do not seem to match up perfectly. The Hall of Fame may provide a better answer. Along the same lines I have seen bound sets of media guides for most of the years 1961-69 that I do believe came out of the league office. In 1946 and 1947 the league issued spiral bound sets of all the league guides and then in I think 1968 both the NFL & AFL began issuing binders with all the league team guides. They changed through the years from punch-hole binders to steel rods holding each guide to eventually housing them in plastic pockets. |

I saw a few of these for the Buffalo Bills a while back , they were purchased from an executive of the team.
My hunch is they were put together by the team for VP's , executives of the team. Maybe searching out the media guides may shed some light on those names gary |

Love those vintage bobbles. I one day will own all the Jets bobbles.
I at first thought a collector just had those professionally binded like some comic book collectors do with old issues that are falling apart, but it makes sense that executives would have them binded for their use. Where can I see Football Rob's collection? Mike Last edited by yankeesjetsfan; 06-07-2017 at 02:45 PM. |

I can understand that. I don't have a memorabilia room either because of space. For now, everything is put away also except some pf my bobbles and signed baseballs. My dream is to have a room I can turn into an office and display my Yankees items as well as my Jets, Knicks, Islanders and non sports goodies. I will need a few cabinets, lol.
