Actually look closely since there is paper loss near his head someone took a pencil and redrew in his eye and colored in where the brim of his hat should be. Youn mentioned the pencil which helped me spot it.
I like that a LOT more than trimmed, especially because it looks like a kid did it, not someone attempting to "fix" the card.
