Hi, I'm brand new to the forum and joined because I recently came across some cards that I thought I had lost long ago. I'm not really a collector but I thought I was when I was a kid and my Great Uncle tossed me 5 of these cards.
In doing some research on them, they've got a pretty cool history and full sets have apparently gone for quite a lot at auction. I'm probably not really looking to keep them but would like to treat them right and thus my questions...
Thanks a lot! Image00001 smaller.jpg Image00002 smaller.jpg |

They are classified as F66 in the American Card Catalog. In that condition I would put their value at about $50-$100 each. I wouldn't bother getting them authenticated if it were me. They are real and they will only grade a 1-2, or 3 on the outside. Some of them were Voided for a contest I believe. Or maybe it was admittance of some type, not sure. As for preserving them, put them in some penny sleeves in top loaders of archival quality and you should be good. If you send me a private message I will send you some...I have extras.

You dont see them in good shape very often, which keeps the value down. I agree yours are probably in the $50 range. Top loaders make more sense than slabbing.
Below is a 10-Poor slabbed for reference, an unslabbed, and a somewhat hard to find unslabbed blank back on thicker card stock. F66 Barton, Larry (F+B cropped).jpg F66 Grilk, Jim (F+B cropped).jpg F66 Wasley, Mel (F+B).jpg |
