First, this is not Charlie Ferguson, it is Jim Tyng
Second, it looks a lot like the Tyng Gilbert & Bacon cabinet in the NYPL Spalding collection, which interestingly enough is also misidentified as Charlie Ferguson
Third, the back should not be blank, it should have a Gilbert & Bacon design

Fourth - the corners are artificially rounded, the sanded off edges not displaying age.

Thank you, Old Judge, for not only outing the auction, but for explaining what is wrong, too. This is most helpful to those of us trying to learn. Thank all three of you guys.

I cannot stress how important this is, and I would ask our other members to provide this same kind of information whenever possible. It is wonderful that you all help to keep this hobby safe, and point out questionable, or downright misleading auctions. But when you provide the kind of content that's been given in this thread, you are adding one more pair of eyes to the fight against the bad guys.

Thank you

The card is about to sell. It is clearly a printed version of the NYPL photo. Thank you, I almost placed a bid.
