I have a rules question. Im currently playing the 1910 season of stratomatic. Bugs Raymond has pitched 6 innings of winning baseball. However he was just ejected for hitting his second batter.if my relief pitcher (Hooks Wiltse) doesn't allow anymore runs would he get the win since Raymond was ejected?

There might be a rule that says an ejected player can't get a win but I have never heard of it. I think Bugs still gets the win but I could be wrong.... A quick Google search didn't answer it.

Our barely-informed impression is that crediting wins and losses, and lots more, was left up to the discretion of the official scorer
until the massive recodification of the rule book in 1950. If Raymond was adjudged to have pitched "effectively" prior to his ejection, and his team did not relinquish the lead thereafter, we'd think he'd get credit for the win, regardless of how sharp Wiltse was in relief. On the other hand, if Raymond's team was up by, say, 12-8 at the time of Raymond's ejection, and Wiltse threw three shutout innings, the scorer might have awarded Wiltse the win. On the other other hand, revisionist stat-keeping correcting such stuff to more modern standards might return the win to Raymond. You did ask for opinions, and that's all this is...

haha yeah I google'd and found not a thing. I am 141 games into the season and this is the first time it has happened.
Raymond pitched very well. in six innings he had only allowed 3 hits, 1 run and no walks. He is amazingly 17-3 if he takes this won which is interesting as he had a pretty mediocre year in 1910 (most of the other players play pretty parallel with their real stats) and I have him FOURTH in the rotation. Based on the two responses I am giving Raymond the win! Thanks for the feedback guys ![]() |

Is the ejection thing something worked into the game? I didn't think a second hit batter was an ejection back then.
I'd think he would get the win. He went more than 5 and was in the lead, and pitching well. Steve B |

Its something I added to give some of the second string pitchers a chance. Basically two wild pitches and a hit batter or two hit batters is grounds for an ejection. The starters can pitch every three games and most of them have pitched on average about 50 innings more then they should so adding the ejection rule helps a bit
