I'll bet that there is more than one type collector out there who needs a 1952 BMC for their collection. In GEM MINT 10 condition this O'Doul offering is probably a 1 of 1, so only the winning bidder will be able to add one to their collection. To be fair please read the following disclaimers before bidding.
1. FGS (aka FINEST GRADING SERVICE) no longer has a functioning website and the domain name is available for sale as well. 2. Why Lefty O'Doul is #3 is totally unclear as this is not part of a set. It is also not his uniform number. They were 6 and 16. 3. a rooster and other gifts - This may well be an apt description of Lefty, but the reference is not intuitively obvious. (see below) 4. MAGAZINE CUT OUT may be a tip off as to the meaning of BMC. I simply don't know. 5. The reverse chronicles various major league stars, who once played in the Mid-Atlantic League. I can find no evidence of any relationship Lefty ever had with this league as his minor league career was spent entirely on the West Coast. 6. An unnamed minor league executive was visibly moved at a testimonial dinner thrown for him by his friends. This slab is thought to be the only extant example commemorating this dinner. The menu is unknown, but rooster cannot be ruled out. (see above) 7. The most important thing, that prospective bidders should be aware of, is that page 34 is not included in this auction. ![]() 8. The slab appears to be intact without frosting, lending credence to the authenticity of this item. Let's start this one out at $5, although lower bids will not be categorically refused. Increments will take care of themselves. The auction will end at the discretion of the auctioneer at an undisclosed time to be determined. Any form of payment may result in a mental evaluation of the winning bidder, so bid with caution. Good luck.
